The public has long concluded that presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in June 1968. This conclusion is based on assertions of a man or men firing shots at him and the assumption that the bullets found match the murder weapon.
But as I have pointed out in my essays, Who Shot RFK and Thane Cesar Did Not Shoot RFK, only Sirhan Sirhan fired shots at Kennedy. And that the alleged fatal bullet, specifically a fragment from that bullet, could not have fit Sirhan’s revolver.
My conclusion is based upon a statement made by coroner Dr. Thomas Noguchi in the autopsy report. He described a fragment in the X-rays that was “12 x 7 x 12 millimeters,” too large for .22 revolver, which has bullet diameters of approximately 5.6 millimeters.
What did other experts say about the fatal bullet?
Dr. Robert J. Scanlan, Head of the Department of Radiology at the Good Samaritan Hospital, in the same autopsy report mentions a “metallic foreign body, measuring 7 x 6 x 3 millimeters” in Kennedy’s skull. Such a fragment might have come from Sirhan’s revolver.
Why would two experts give dimensions so wildly different?
Noguchi could have misstated the dimensions. But this possibility is unlikely as he corroborates the size of the bullet in a different section of the autopsy report by describing the size of the original entry hole in Kennedy as “2 centimeters in diameter.” This hole is much too large for a bullet fired from Sirhan’s .22 gun.
It appears that Scanlan and Noguchi were describing different fragments.
What could clarify this matter?
The best help would probably be a primary measurement of the largest fragment, such as an actual photograph of the fragment with a measurement tape next to it and the date of photograph noted. But, incredibly, it appears that no such measurement of the largest fragment was ever conducted!
What’s more, the LAPD does not account for any images of a bullet wound in RFK’s scalp. The LAPD also destroyed over 2,400 photographs two months before Sithan’s trial was to begin.
Answers to other pertinent questions are hard to find. For example, where is Robert F. Kennedy’s brain?
Its last known whereabouts is Noguchi’s office on June 7, 1968!
How about photographs of the brain?
No photographs taken after its removal from the skull are apparently available. The best chance for visibility for a bullet to a brain is after the brain’s removal!
And yet the official conclusion is that Robert F. Kennedy was murdered at the Ambassador Hotel in June 1968.
When evidence does not connect with, or is inexplicably unavailable to substantiate a conclusion, it’s time to look for a new conclusion. The best conclusion is that Robert F. Kennedy was not fatally shot at the Ambassador Hotel in June 1968.
